Pavilion Sunshine Coast Marquee Hire
Pavilion Marquees are the most popular type of marquee used at weddings at events because of their extreme flexibility and stylish look. They are known as clear span structures because they provide a completely clear space under the roof. This means there are no poles to get in the way and you have ultimate flexibility in placing furniture, dance floors and bars. This sunshine coast marquee type is rectangular in shape and comes in multiple widths and lengths.
You can have marquees from 6m wide up to 20m wide. Typically the wider the marquee the more expensive it is. In terms of lengths – we’ve seen this type of marquee hire go up to 69m long. Choosing the right size depends on the numbers of guests you will have and what else you want inside the marquee.
A pavilion marquee allows you to choose from white or clear walls and from white or clear roof panels. You can also combine them and have a mix of white and clear. You can complement the inside of the marquee hire by adding silk lining to the roof, the walls or both. This adds a lovely soft touch.
Pavilion marquees are completely weather proof and can come with or without flooring.
In terms of light and airflow they are a great choice. The walls can be taken off or tied back to maximise both airflow and light. Combining white and clear roof panels can add light to the entertaining area.

Peg and Pole Sunshine Coast Marquee Hire – Traditional
Peg and pole marquee hire is a tent that is like a circus tent. Peg and pole marquee hires have large central poles, over which the cover is stretched. The cover is then secured to wooden poles around the outside of the marquee hire, these poles are then secured by white ropes attached to pegs in the ground – hence the name peg and pole.they are sometimes referred to as tension marquees or tension tents because of this method of securing them.
A peg and pole marquee comes with rounded ends and is typically white in colour, although some providers have some striped options. They come with clear or white walls meaning they are also completely weather proof.
Peg and pole marquee hires can also be complemented by silk lining.
In terms of light and airflow, like the Pavilion marquee – peg and pole marquees can have the walls removed or tied back to maximise the amount of light and airflow inside the entertaining area.

Sailcloth Sunshine Coast Marquee Hire
A sailcloth marquee is a romantic choice. Using the same system as the peg and pole marquee hire, these tents have one noticeable difference. The cover of the marquee is made from sailcloth – similar to that used in yacht’s spinnakers. This means that you get a tent with stylish, sculpted peaks and eaves in a translucent sailcloth that means daytime events are full of warm natural light, and that at nighttime the marquee hire glows. A sailcloth marquee hire is 100% waterproof and built strong to help assure your special day is not affected by the elements.
To maximise airflow you can remove the walls completely or simply tie back any number of individual walls to suit the conditions
Sailcloth marquee hire come in a variety of sizes. They are rounded end tents that can come with clear walls..

Tipi Marquee Hire
Tipis (or katas as they are sometimes known) are relatively new entrant into the Sunshine Coast marquee hire market. They are a striking design using heavy duty khaki coloured fabric and timber poles. They can be constructed with the side panels down or up. When sides are up tipis reflect a witches hat which does look pretty cool.
They have a circular footprint – which can be a little challenging when considering your floorpan but it is not insurmountable – so take this into consideration when planning your event. If you are having more than a couple of dozen people you will need to combine tipis. This is when it can become a little tricky because of the timber pole based construction of the tipi. Tipis do not have centre poles, instead they rely on poles around the outside of the tent coming to a point at the top. This means when you combine tipis you will have the side poles of each tipi that you are combining intruding into your entertaining space. Again, this is not a deal breaker but something you should consider for your guests as the night goes on and the drinks flow!!
One other comment we have heard from tipi users is that while the tents look awesome at night, because of the heavy duty fabric and inability to lift up all walls when tipis are joined, the inside of the tipis can be quite dark and airflow can be limited.

Stretch Tents
Stretch tents are, as the name suggests, constructed by stretching a sailcloth like fabric over poles. They are freeform tents, meaning you can crate a unique shape and contour with the tent. Typically they are not installed with walls so you can be a little exposed to the weather but new suppliers are now manufacturing stretch tents with walls to overcome this issue. They are light and bright and are great for airflow.
